ABOUT JAH LIVITY FOUNDATION
🌿 Who Wi Are
Real roots. Real people. Real Livity.
Jah Livity Foundation is a Jamaican grassroots foundation built around a simple idea: when something good reach you, pass some along.
Wi come from the Jah Livity community in Negril, with deep roots in Rastafarian culture, One Love, respect for the land and the belief that community works best when people look out for one another.
The Foundation gives that spirit somewhere practical to go — helping turn generosity into support for people, families and communities right here in Jamaica.
No need fi make kindness complicated. 💚
OUR PHILOSOPHY
🌱 What Is Livity?
Livity isn’t just a nice word. It’s a way of moving through life.
In Rastafari, Livity speaks to how you live — your connection to Jah, to nature, to other people and to the choices you make every day.
For us, that means respect. Community. Responsibility. Sharing what you have. Helping where you can. And remembering that none of us really stand alone.
You can reason about Livity all day, but eventually it have to leave the reasoning circle and do something. 😄
That is the part Jah Livity Foundation is interested in.
Livity in action.

OUR HISTORY
🇯🇲 Where Wi Come From
Jah Livity Foundation didn’t start in a boardroom with somebody drawing circles on a whiteboard.
It grew naturally from Jah Livity, the Jamaican social enterprise built around Rastafarian culture, community, education and support for local people.
From the beginning, Jah Livity was never meant to be only about business. The idea was always that support flowing into the community should also help strengthen the community it came from.
Over time, that meant helping local farmers, supporting community needs, sharing resources and finding practical ways to give something back.
After Hurricane Melissa, the need became much bigger — and much more immediate. Families were rebuilding homes, farms and everyday life. That was the moment when it made sense to give this work a more formal home.
And so Jah Livity Foundation grew from something wi were already doing into something built to carry that work further.
Same roots. Wider reach. More Livity to share. 💚
OUR FOUNDATION
❤️💛💚 Rooted in Rastafari. Open to Everybody.
Rastafari is part of where Jah Livity comes from — not decoration, not branding, but roots.
Ideas like Livity, One Love, respect for the earth, community responsibility and helping your brother or sister when dem need it all shape the way wi think about the Foundation.
Wi also work closely with people and organisations from the Rastafarian community, including Bubba Hill Rastafarian Church, and those relationships remain an important part of who wi are.
But help doesn’t come with a membership card.
If somebody genuinely needs support and wi have a practical way to help, that’s what matters.
Rooted in Rastafari. Open to everybody. Helping where help needed.
OUR APPROACH
🤲 How Wi Work
Small enough fi listen. Close enough fi know what’s going on.
Jah Livity Foundation is deliberately grassroots.
Wi don’t run a giant organisation with layers of offices, departments and people having meetings about when to schedule the next meeting. 😄
Instead, wi work with people who are already part of the communities around us — families, farmers, churches, local groups and individuals who understand what is happening on the ground.
Sometimes support is money. Sometimes it is supplies. Sometimes somebody needs a laptop, building materials or household essentials. Sometimes another community organisation is already doing the work and simply needs a hand.
The form can change.
The principle doesn’t:
Listen. Keep it practical. Help where the help can actually land.
That’s how wi prefer to work.

MAKE A DIFFERENCE
💚 One Love in Action
A Foundation doesn’t do much by itself.
People do.
The person who makes a donation. The traveller who brings a useful item in their suitcase. The person who buys a T-shirt. The driver who volunteers a pickup. The church that knows which family could use a hand. The neighbour who checks in after everybody else gone home.
Put all those likkle pieces together and something much bigger start to happen.
One one coco full basket — and One Love work best when everybody bring something.
Walk good. Do good. Leave some good behind. 💚🇯🇲
